Redvine

This modest-sized creeper is a steady-growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 36 feet (11.0 meters) and growing as high as 287 feet (87.5 meters).

It takes 18 months for the yellow-green stems to mature, by which point they have often fused together into ropes with a diameter of 2 inches (5 cm) and are smooth and woody.

The sickle shaped, waxy leaves reach up to 10 inches (25 cm) in length. They are solid red with orange edges, and have smooth edges.

During late spring, the creeper produces hundreds of large deep purple flowers.
