Blueberry Tree

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This short fruit tree grows up to 8 feet (2.4 meters) tall and lives for up to 10 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 24 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a stocky, twisting trunk covered in hard, wrinkled, brown-green speckled bark, and inside, the light wood is yellow.

The branches are long and thick and are covered with copious amounts of tiny, stiff, pointed leaves with tattered edges. The leaves themselves are a shade of red that gradient shifts to sky blue at the top.

In early spring, it produces several large, deep purple blossoms with 3 V-shaped shaped petals. They detach easily and have a powerful scent that smells like old shoes.

In early summer it produces , fan-like fruit. The fuzzy amber skin is thin and inedible, and the soft black flesh is salty and syrupy. The olive seeds are large and are located in the centre of the fruit.

The roots form a tightly packed ball, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with the space between filled with undergrowth.

The leaves are very toxic, and very sweet.
It is possible to grow it from cuttings.
