Violetpine

This average-sized tree grows up to 21 meters (68.9 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 310 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has a long and flexible, straight trunk covered in delicate, cracked, brown-green speckled bark, and inside, the soft wood is light brown.

The branches are very short and thick, covered with large amounts of large, violet needles. The needles themselves are light.

In late summer it produces tiny, caramel, winged seeds that spin and fall nearby.

The roots form a tightly packed ball, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
