Copperflower

This small flower grows up to 1 inch (3 cm) tall. Its green stems grow from the base of the plant in bunches of 4 and are very thick and straight, and split into dozens of branching stems a quarter of the way up, and the large, gray leaves are 7 pointed with wavy edges. Many leaves grow at the base of the stem, and more leaves grow in pairs along the length of the stem.

Two large flowers sit at the end of the stem. The flowers are 6 cm (2.4 inches) wide, with solid copper petals and a dark red central disk. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of 10 curved petals. They are very delicate.

It has a mildly strong scent that smells like sugar, and it has lots of pollen; it does not cause any allergic reactions. It is pollinated by a small species of bird, but is also visited by one species of insect in particular.
