Coppergrass

Grass type: Perennial (Stores water in its stem)

This average-sized, copper grass grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall. The flame-shaped stalks grow in sparse patches that are strong and tough.

When mature, the end of the stem eventually transforms into a small, black flower.

During the late autumn, it produces lots of pollen, and after flowering, it is left with lots of tiny grains.


It spreads easily and often blanket large areas.
It absorbs an exceptionally large amount of water each day.
It is suitable for making paper
