Magenta Willow
Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in its stem)This big tree grows up to 64 meters (210.0 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 437 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.
It has a sturdy, curved trunk covered in paper-thin, smooth, brown-green speckled bark, and inside, the soft wood is white with black speckles.
The branches trail down to the ground and are covered with small bunches of rough, large, very narrow and elongated leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are found in light grey and magenta varieties.
In early spring, it produces lots of tiny, vivid yellow blossoms with long, narrow petals. They detach easily and have a weak scent that smells like apple.
In late summer it forms small, orange, shelled seeds.
The roots are long and grow straight down, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.
Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with grassy ground between them.
It is suitable for making strong rope
The stems are covered in large spikes.
