Copperwood

This massive tree grows up to 109 meters (357.6 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 56 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has a wide, wavy trunk covered in paper-thin, smooth, dark brown bark, and inside, the flexible wood is copper-coloured.

The branches are short and thin and are covered with large amounts of rough, small, very narrow and elongated leaves with irregular edges. The leaves themselves are either slate or peach, with pale purple dots.

In late summer it forms tiny, brown, tough-shelled seeds.

The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.
