Emerald Tree

Tree type: Coniferous (Stores water in its leaves)

This modest-sized tree grows up to 54 meters (177.2 feet) tall and lives for over 1,000 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 1630 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a sturdy, twisting trunk covered in delicate, knobbly, gray bark, and inside, the very light wood is pale yellow.

The excessive amount of branches trail down across the ground, with hundreds of twigs covered with small amounts of miniature, emerald needles. The needles themselves are delicate.

In late summer it produces medium-sized, olive, spiky-shelled seeds.

The roots are thick and spread across the surface, as well as underground, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with patches of undergrowth between them.

It is said to be able to live for hundreds of years.
It is very rare outside of a particular area.
Once on fire, it burns very quickly.
It is suitable for creating flexible, durable textiles
It aggressively steals nutrients from other large plants (but not each other).
