Bloodgrass

Grass type: Biennial (Stores water in its leaves)

This short, pink-red grass grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall. The thin stalks grow in sparse patches that are light and frail and they are slow to spread and grow.

When mature, the end of the stem eventually transforms into a giant, blood red tuft.

During the late summer, it produces very little pollen, and after flowering, it is left with a modest amount of tiny grains.

It is suitable for creating flexible, durable textiles
It is difficult to kill and will quickly regrow if cut.
