Waterleaf

This short tree grows up to 3 meters (9.8 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 297 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has a very thick, curved trunk covered in thin, smooth, brown-green speckled bark, and inside, the very light wood is pale brown.

The small bunches of branches are very long and slender and are covered with copious amounts of rough, small, 2 pointed leaves with jagged edges. The leaves themselves are found in cyan and faded red varieties.

In late summer it forms large, light purple aril (seeds with fleshy covers).

The roots are fine and grow in a large web, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.
