Bloodvine

It takes 6 months for the red stems to mature, by which point they each have a diameter of 3 cm (1.2 inches) and are rough and prickly.
The 5 pointed, fuzzy leaves reach up to 2 inches (5 cm) in length. They are violet and turquoise, and have ripped edges.
During late spring, the creeper produces lots of small blood red flowers.
It is suitable for making baskets and the like
It is frequently struck by lightning.
