Spiny Amber Agave

Succulent type: Leaf succulent (Stores water in its leaves)

This small leaf succulent grows up to 6 feet (1.8 meters) tall. The stiff, pointed stem is amber, and is covered in thick bunches of rigid azure spines. The toothed-edged, 5 pointed leaves are solid dull yellow with yellow splotches. Large amounts of them grow from the base in alternating layers of 3, then 6, then 9, and so on. The leaves are resilient, and take little effort to detach.

It is steady-growing, taking 10 months to reach maturity. Once mature, a handful of flowers, with solid florescent orange petals decorated with lime lines and a yellow central disk, grow at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is shaped like a bowl with 15 raised, narrow petals. It has a weak scent that smells like cinnamon.

The leaf succulent's skin is thick, the pink flesh is soft, and the purple sap is thin.

It comes in 82 varieties.
It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
All of it is said to be part of one single, massive plant.
