Silvervine

This modest-sized shrub grows up to 2 feet (61.0 cm) tall and lives for around 75 years. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has several very thick, twisting stems covered in paper-thin, smooth, silver bark, and the wood inside is pale yellow.

The branches are very long and thin with thousands of twigs that and are covered with large amounts of giant, thick, leaves with irregular edges. The leaves themselves are found in green and red varieties, frail and soft.

It produces balls of small, dark grey flowers with 9 spiral shaped petals. They detach easily and have a delicate scent that smells like onion. In late autumn it forms giantcrimson aril (seeds with fleshy covers).
