Silverfern

This big tree grows up to 67 meters (219.8 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 661 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has a very thick, twisting trunk covered in silky, silver bark, and inside, the light wood is pine-coloured.

The sparse amount of branches are very long and thin and are covered with small bunches of covered in fine hairs, tiny, very thick leaves with jagged edges. The leaves themselves are either violet, or sky blue with peach dots.

In early spring, it produces thousands of tiny, white blossoms with triangular shaped petals. They are hardy and have a strong scent that smells like paint.

In late summer it forms large, cream, winged seeds that spin and fall nearby.

The roots spread far and go deep underground, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with patches of undergrowth between them.
