Silvervine

Climbing plant type: Vine (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This small vine is a very fast growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 6 feet (1.8 meters) and growing as high as 71 feet (21.6 meters). It prefers to grow on rock formations.

It takes 2 months for the silver stems to mature, by which point they have tangled themselves into thick mats with a diameter of 3 cm (1.2 inches) and are smooth and rubbery.

The fan-like, smooth leaves reach up to 3 inches (8 cm) in length. They are generally purple, and have jagged edges.

During late spring, the vine produces hundreds of small peach flowers, and during the mid-summer, after flowering, it produces lots of very large seed pods.
