Yellowfruit

Fruit Tree type: Coniferous (Stores water in its stem)

This modest-sized fruit tree grows up to 11 feet (3.4 meters) tall and lives for up to 35 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 54 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a sturdy, curved trunk covered in fine, wrinkled, yellow bark, and inside, the soft wood is yellow.

The branches are very short and thin and are covered with thick bunches of huge, thick leaves with tattered edges. The leaves themselves are solid dark orange with olive zig-zags.

In early spring, it produces dozens of large, drab purple blossoms with pleated petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They fall easily and have a soft scent that smells like petrol.

In early summer it produces small, long, narrow fruit. The smooth cyan skin is delicate and sweet and bitter, and the slightly crunchy turquoise flesh is sour and oily. The vivid red seed is very large and sits at the top of the fruit.

The roots are long and grow straight down, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with grassy ground between them.

It is suitable for making strong rope
It releases hallucinogenic smoke when burned.
