Crimsonbrush

Shrub type: Coniferous (Stores water in its stem)

This small shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for around 36 years. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has numerous very thick, wonky stems covered in very thick, wrinkled, black with white speckled bark, and the wood inside is copper-coloured.

The branches trail down towards the ground with thousands of twigs that and are covered with small bunches of huge, spear shaped, leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are crimson at the bottom and amber with silver splotches at the top, tough and covered in fine hairs.

It produces balls of medium-sized, cyan flowers with many layers of petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They fall easily and have a delicate scent that smells like rotten egg. In late summer it forms medium-sizedolive seed pods.

It only grows on the most fertile lands.
