Burgundy Pine

Tree type: Coniferous (Stores water in its stem)

This colossal tree grows up to 117 meters (383.9 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 378 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a stocky, slanted trunk covered in thick, smooth, burgundy bark, and inside, the light wood is pine-coloured.

The small clumps of branches trail down across the ground, with hundreds of twigs covered with small amounts of small, copper needles. The needles themselves are sturdy.

In late summer it produces large, olive seed pods.

The roots form a tightly packed ball, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
