Moss Green Trumpet Flower

Flower type: Annual (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This modest-sized flower grows up to 7 inches (18 cm) tall. Its beige stem is very thin, and the giant, moss green leaves are thick with wavy edges. 7 leaves grow at the base of the stem.

Each stem splits 3 to 8 times; a single giant flower grows at the end of each split. The flowers are 22 cm (8.7 inches) wide, with light brown petals and a yellow center. The flower head is shaped like a trumpet with 27 tightly layered, round-tipped petals. They are sturdy.

It has a strong scent that smells like cigarette smoke, and it has very little pollen. It is pollinated by a small species of bird.

It is very rare outside of a particular area.

The bark is frequently covered in moss.
