Red Tuftgrass
Grass type: Annual (Stores water in its leaves)This small, red grass grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall. The wispy stalks grow in extensive patches that are durable and they spread and grow quickly.
When mature, the end of the stem eventually transforms into a medium-sized, deep purple tuft.
During the early summer, it produces very little pollen, but can cause allergic reactions, and after flowering, it is left with a few tiny grains.
It is suitable for making paper
It can grow in even the most barren lands.
Their seeds have hallucinogenic properties.
The bark, wood and leaves are edible.
