Bloodrush

Grass type: Biennial (Stores water in its leaves)

This short, yellow-green grass grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall. The spear shaped stalks grow in extensive patches that are prone to bending and snapping under stress and they are slow to spread and grow.

When mature, the end of the stem eventually transforms into a tiny, blood red tuft.

During the early summer, it produces lots of pollen; it can cause severe allergic reactions, and after flowering, it is left with a modest amount of large grains.

It is suitable for creating strong, durable textiles
It aggressively steals nutrients from other large plants (but not each other).
