Cyan Starflower

This huge caudiciform grows up to 141 feet (43.0 meters) tall. The thick stem is brown, and is covered in thick sheets of rigid red spines. It has a straight, very thick, muted green trunk atop a stocky stilted platform of rough, exposed roots. The branches are thick, gnarled and grey or hazel and trail down towards the ground.

The jagged-edged, broad, flat leaves are grey and amber. They are rigid, but take some effort to detach.

It is steady-growing, taking 3 years to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, a handful of flowers, with alternating petals of orange and cyan, with a magenta central disk, grow at the top, reappearing after 5 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is shaped like a star made up of many raised, narrow petals. It has no scent.

The caudiciform's skin is very thick, the blue flesh is soft, and the intense green sap is thin and causes severe cramps if consumed.
