Goldenleaf Tree

Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in its stem)

This average-sized tree grows up to 7 meters (23.0 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 478 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has a branched, crooked trunk covered in fine, wrinkled, pine-coloured bark, and inside, the very dense wood is gray.

The excessive amount of branches trail down across the ground and are covered with copious amounts of covered in fine hairs, miniature, slender, pointed leaves with serrated edges. The leaves themselves are solid gold with light brown lines.

In late summer it forms small, gold, winged seeds that float and land far away.

The roots are thick and spread across the surface, as well as underground, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with clear space between them.

It out-competes most other plants for nutrients and light.
It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
The leaves are very toxic, and very spicy.
