Indigo Maple

This short tree grows up to 5 meters (16.4 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 78 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has a slender, wavy trunk covered in rough, yellow bark, and inside, the dense wood is brown.

The abundance of branches are tall, rigid and upright and are covered with large amounts of covered in fine hairs, giant, sickle shaped leaves with toothed edges. The leaves themselves are indigo on the edges and azure at the center.

In late summer it forms small, caramel, winged seeds that spin and fall nearby.

The roots are fine and grow in a large web, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with patches of undergrowth between them.
