Gray Moss

This gray moss is commonly found blanketing large areas In rainforests.
It is small, growing up to 2 inches (5 cm) tall. It forms in extensive patches and they are exceptionally hardy, and is overwhelmingly flimsy; it dislikes being stepped on.
When mature, emerald heart-shaped capsules grow at the end of elongated, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early winter to release thousands of spores.
