Vanilla Tree

Tree type: Deciduous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This large tree grows up to 70 meters (229.7 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 534 years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a wide, curved trunk covered in delicate, knobbly, yellow-brown bark, and inside, the soft wood is pale yellow.

The abundance of branches are long and thin and are covered with small bunches of smooth, large, circular leaves with wavy edges. The leaves themselves are generally lime.

In early spring, it produces copious amounts of small, caramel blossoms with crescent-shaped shaped petals. They detach easily and have the faintest scent that smells like vanilla.

In late summer it forms tiny, pastel yellow, tough-shelled seeds.

The roots are thick and spread across the surface, as well as underground, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with clear space between them.
