Copperleaf

This modest-sized tree grows up to 45 meters (147.6 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 252 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has a stocky, angular trunk covered in rough, light brown bark, and inside, the very hard wood is yellow-brown.

The branches are very long and thin and are covered with copious amounts of covered in fine hairs, giant, wide leaves with tattered edges. The leaves themselves are blood red and copper.

In late summer it forms large, olive, tough-shelled seeds.

The roots are thick and spread across the surface, as well as underground, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with clear space between them.
