Sunset Blue

This average-sized flower grows up to 1.4 feet (43 cm) tall. Its gray stem is thick, and the huge, orange-yellow leaves are brown on the underside and are long, tapering with smooth edges. Many leaves grow along the entire length of the stem.

Lots of small flowers grow in a bunch at the end of the stem. The flowers are 5 cm (2.0 inches) wide, with green petals that gradient shift to azure on the outer edge. The central disk is black. The flower head is shaped like a bowl made up of dozens of widely spaced, narrow petals. They are very delicate.

It has the faintest scent that smells like grass cuttings, and it has very little pollen; it does not cause any allergic reactions. It is pollinated by the wind, but is also particularly attractive to butterflies.
