Lilac

Succulent type: Caudiciform (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This small caudiciform grows up to 2 feet (61.0 cm) tall. The wide stem is lilac, and is covered in lots of fine, brown, hair-like spines. It has a angular, wide, crimson trunk atop a bulbous mess of knobbly, exposed roots. The branches are stumpy and gray-green and are long, thin and wispy.

The ripped-edged, long, tapering leaves are green on the edges and lime at the center. They are delicate, but detach easily.

It is very slow growing, taking 39 years to reach maturity. Once mature, several flowers with violet petals and a cream central disk grow at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is shaped like a dish with 59 raised, round-tipped petals. It has a delicate scent that smells like old shoes.

The caudiciform's skin is thick, the caramel flesh is smooth, and the pink sap is thin and causes vomiting if consumed.

It can flourish even in standing water.
It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
