Mahogany
Shrub type: Deciduous (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)This small shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for around 30 years. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.
It has dozens of slender, straight stems covered in thick, rough, dark brown bark, and the wood inside is mahogany-coloured.
The branches are tall, rigid and upright with hundreds of twigs that and are covered with small amounts of small, broad, flat, leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are green on the edges and lime at the center, flimsy and crispy.
In early spring it produces many large, florescent red flowers with 5 shield-shaped shaped petals. They are very delicate and have a weak scent that smells like mango.
It is suitable for creating flexible, durable textiles
