Golden Needle Tree

This huge tree grows up to 145 meters (475.7 feet) tall and lives for over 1,000 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 1677 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a sturdy, crooked trunk covered in waxy, gray bark, and inside, the flexible wood is dark brown.

The branches are short, rigid and upright, with thousands of twigs covered with large amounts of giant, yellow-green needles. The needles themselves are resilient.

In late summer it produces large, caramel aril (seeds with fleshy covers).

The roots are fine and grow in a large web, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with clear space between them.
