Emeraldsucculent

Succulent type: Caudiciform (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This short caudiciform grows up to 4 feet (1.2 meters) tall. The slender, pointed stem is lime green, and is dotted with small brown spines. The thick, slate trunk can grow to as much as 4 feet (1.2 meters) in diameter. Its emerald branches are tall, rigid and upright.

The wavy-edged, very thin leaves are solid slate or gentle yellow, with deep green splotches. They are resilient, but easily come away when pulled.

It is steady-growing, taking 22 months to reach maturity. Once mature, a handful of flowers, with solid gentle yellow petals decorated with olive dots and a aquamarine central disk, grow at the top, reappearing once every 7 years. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of up to 20 curved petals. It has a delicate scent that smells like onion.

The caudiciform's skin is thick, the purple flesh is smooth, and the copper sap is thin.

The sap is cyan.
