Magenta

This short fruit tree grows up to 6 feet (1.8 meters) tall and lives for up to 30 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 36 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has a knobbly, curved trunk covered in knobbly, yellow bark, and inside, the dense wood is pale brown.

The tangled mess of branches trail down towards the ground and are covered with large amounts of large, very narrow and elongated leaves with wavy edges. The leaves themselves are found in drab blue and pink varieties.

In early spring, it produces copious amounts of medium-sized, pink blossoms with teardrop-shaped shaped petals. They are very delicate and have an overpowering scent that smells like coffee.

In mid-autumn it produces very large, long, narrow fruit. The leathery black skin is thick and spicy, and the very soft magenta flesh is salty and juicy. The blood red seed is very large and is in the centre of the fruit.

The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.
