Silverbell

This short tree grows up to 3 meters (9.8 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 92 years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a sturdy, angular trunk covered in delicate, silky, silver and white bark, and inside, the very light wood is yellow.

The branches are long and slender and are covered with handfuls of soft, small, spear shaped leaves with irregular edges. The leaves themselves are yellow and black.

In early spring, it produces many giant, turquoise blossoms with broad, flat petals. They detach easily and have a faint scent that smells like grass cuttings.

In late summer it forms medium-sized, black, winged seeds that float and land far away.

The roots are thick and spread across the surface, as well as underground, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with grassy ground between them.
