Firepine

This big shrub grows up to 6 feet (1.8 meters) tall and lives for around 10 years. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has dozens of stocky, straight stems covered in delicate, cracked, light gray bark, and the wood inside is yellow-brown.

The branches are short stubs that and are covered with handfuls of miniature, long, tapering, leaves with tattered edges. The leaves themselves are amber on the edges and blood red at the center, hardy and waxy.

In late spring it produces handfuls of tiny, lilac flowers with slender, pointed petals. They are sturdy and have a delicate scent that smells like vomit.
