Violet

Shrub type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This big shrub grows up to 5 feet (1.5 meters) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 192 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has dozens of slender, twisting stems covered in rough, gray bark, and the wood inside is light brown.

The branches are short stubs that and are covered with thick bunches of tiny, stiff, pointed, leaves with jagged edges. The leaves themselves are violet and bright purple, flexible and fuzzy.

In late summer it produces a thick sheet of medium-sized, turquoise flowers with asymmetrical petals. They are very delicate and have a delicate scent that smells like rotten meat.

It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
It is difficult to kill and will quickly regrow if cut.
