Ashy Spineleaf

Succulent type: Leaf succulent (Stores water in its leaves)

This average-sized leaf succulent grows up to 13 feet (4.0 meters) tall. The very narrow, elongated stem is olive and emerald, and is covered in brittle ashy red spines. The stocky leaves are olive on the sides and faded purple at the center. Very large amounts of them grow on stocky, lime branches that trail down towards the ground. The leaves are rigid, and take some effort to detach.

It is steady-growing, taking 16 months to reach maturity. Once mature, several flowers with each petal a slightly different shade of bronze grow at the top, reappearing once every 2 years. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of up to 10 petals. It has an overpowering scent that smells like cotton.

The leaf succulent's skin is rock-hard, the ashy green flesh is slimy, and the magenta sap is thin and causes severe cramps if consumed.

It is possible to grow it from cuttings.
