Amber Spine Caudiciform

This short caudiciform grows up to 6 feet (1.8 meters) tall. The slender, pointed stem is burgundy, and is covered in lots of flexible amber spines. The thick, bronze trunk can grow to as much as 6 feet (1.8 meters) in diameter. Its caramel or copper branches are very long and thick.

The smooth-edged, very thick leaves are found in light brown, hazel and beige varieties. They are delicate, but detach easily.

It is very slow growing, taking 28 years to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, a handful of flowers, with petals that are sky blue on the edges and yellow at the center, grow at the top, reappearing after 10 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of up to 10 petals. It has an overpowering scent that smells like a damp log.

The caudiciform's skin is very thick, the silver flesh is slimy, and the yellow sap is thin.
