Silverleaf Willow

Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in its stem)

This short tree grows up to 3 meters (9.8 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 278 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has a stocky, straight trunk covered in smooth, silver bark, and inside, the light wood is burgundy.

The excessive amount of branches trail down towards the ground and are covered with small amounts of crispy, giant, pleated leaves with wavy edges. The leaves themselves are generally red.

In early spring, it produces thousands of medium-sized, sky blue blossoms with spear shaped petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They are sturdy and have a scent that varies in strength that smells like citrus.

In late summer it forms medium-sized, cyan berries.

The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.

A particular bird species likes to nest in it.
It can flourish even in standing water.
It is suitable for use as a construction material
