Golden Spine Cactus

This huge cactus grows up to 166 feet (50.6 meters) tall. It splits randomly along the body to form 6 fan-like stems. Each stem is gray, and is covered in copious amounts of flexible gold spines.

It is slow growing, taking 35 years to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, a handful of flowers, with solid yellow petals decorated with azure lines and a sky blue central disk, grow at the top, reappearing after 10 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is made up of several petals in raised layers. It has a scent that varies in strength that smells like coconut.

The cactus's skin is tough, the indigo flesh is smooth, and the green sap is thin.
