Twining Goldvine
Climbing plant type: Bine (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)This small bine is a fast growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 22 feet (6.7 meters) and growing as high as 465 feet (141.7 meters). It prefers to grow on specific trees.
It takes 4 months for the yellow-green stems to mature, by which point they can reach a diameter of 1 cm (0.4 inches) and are smooth and slick.
The perforated, waxy leaves reach up to 2 inches (5 cm) in length. They are crimson on the edges and white at the center, and have rounded edges.
During late spring, the bine produces copious amounts of giant gold flowers, and during the late summer, after flowering, it produces lots of small seed pods.
It is possible to grow it from cuttings.
