Coniapple
Fruit Tree type: Coniferous (Stores water in its leaves)This small fruit tree grows up to 8 feet (2.4 meters) tall and lives for up to 20 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 35 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.
It has a thick, slanted trunk covered in fine, wrinkled, white with black speckled bark, and inside, the soft wood is light brown.
The small bunches of branches are very short and thin and are covered with sparse amounts of tiny, very thin leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are amber on the sides and grey at the center.
In early spring, it produces many balls of giant, cream blossoms with sickle shaped petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They fall easily and have an intensely strong scent that smells like paint.
In mid-summer it produces , fan-like fruit. The leathery red skin is thin and sweet and sour, and the very soft amber flesh is salty and sticky. The slate seeds are small and are scattered throughout the fruit.
The roots are thick and spread across the surface, as well as underground, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.
Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.
It is suitable for making strong rope
It blooms only at night.
