Silverblood Shrub

Shrub type: Deciduous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This average-sized shrub grows up to 3 feet (91.4 cm) tall and lives for around 93 years. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has dozens of sturdy, straight stems covered in delicate, cracked, silver bark, and the wood inside is white with black speckles.

The branches are short and thin with thousands of twigs that and are covered with copious amounts of huge, stiff, pointed, leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are blood red at the bottom and bronze with slate splotches at the top, resilient and sticky.

In late spring it produces dozens of tiny, aquamarine blossoms with kidney-shaped shaped petals. They are sturdy and have a mildly strong scent that smells like candle wax.

In early winter small needle-like fruits ripen. The clammy lilac skin is stretchy and edible when cooked; it is sour, and the slightly crunchy subtle blue flesh is bitter and oily. The beige seeds are small and are scattered throughout the fruit.

It aggressively steals nutrients from other large plants (but not each other).
It has impressive regenerative properties.
It is suitable for creating strong, durable textiles
