Whispering Vine

This small flower grows up to 3 inches (8 cm) tall. Its silver stem is wispy, and the tiny, yellow leaves are wispy with smooth edges. The leaves alternate on the stem from the base up to about halfway.

Dozens of small flowers grow in bunches along the stem. The flowers are 19 cm (7.5 inches) wide, with each petal a slightly different shade of amber. The flower head is largely flat with 54 raised narrow petals. They fall easily.

It has a fairly strong scent that smells like alcohol, and it has very little pollen, but can cause allergic reactions. It is pollinated by a small species of bird.
