Twining Indigo Flower

Flower type: Perennial (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This small flower grows up to 2 inches (5 cm) tall. Its orange stem is wispy and splits into 7 branching stems halfway up, and the giant, lime green leaves are light yellow-green on the underside and are finger-like with serrated edges. The leaves alternate on the stem.

3 to 8 large flowers grow on alternate sides up the length of the stem. The flowers are 5 cm (2.0 inches) wide, with indigo petals and a yellow center. The flower head is made up of 10 petals in raised layers. They fall easily.

It has the faintest scent that smells like freshly baked bread, and it has very little pollen; it can cause severe allergic reactions. It is pollinated by the wind.

It is difficult to kill and will quickly regrow if it falls or if its limbs are knocked off.
