Silver Willow

This small tree grows up to 6 meters (19.7 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 410 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has a sturdy, straight trunk covered in thin, wrinkled, silver bark, and inside, the very dense wood is white with black speckles.

The branches trail down across the ground and are covered with small amounts of smooth, tiny, fan-like leaves with rounded edges. The leaves themselves are gentle purple and pastel blue.

In late summer it forms small, purple aril (seeds with fleshy covers).

The roots spread far and go deep underground, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with patches of undergrowth between them.
