Firevine

Climbing plant type: Creeper (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This large creeper is a steady-growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 222 feet (67.7 meters) and growing as high as 42 feet (12.8 meters).

It takes 6 months for the red or subtle yellow stems to mature, by which point they have tangled themselves into thick mats with a diameter of 5 inches (13 cm) and are rough and gnarled.

The slender, pointed, leathery leaves reach up to 1.3 feet (38 cm) in length. They are solid slate with turquoise patches, and have wavy edges.

During late spring, the creeper produces many average lilac flowers.
