Zigzag Blackvine

Climbing plant type: Vine (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This short vine is a quick growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 13 feet (4.0 meters)0.

It takes 6 months for the brown stems to mature, by which point they sometimes have a diameter of 3 cm (1.2 inches) and are smooth and woody.

The crescent-shaped, fuzzy leaves reach up to 3 inches (8 cm) in length. They are solid black with silver zig-zags, and have jagged edges.

During late spring, the vine produces a thick sheet of average gold flowers, and during the mid-autumn, after flowering, it produces excessive amounts of small berries.


It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
It grows well in the sun and full shade.
