Whispering Willow

This small shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 148 years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has dozens of narrow, straight stems covered in thin, waxy, dark gray bark, and the wood inside is white with black speckles.

The branches trail down to the ground that and are covered with small bunches of giant, circular, leaves with irregular edges. The leaves themselves are brown on the sides and pale purple at the center, frail and covered in fine hairs.

In early summer it produces a thick sheet of giant, bold green flowers with broad, flat petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They are very delicate and have a weak scent that smells like bleach.
