Crookedpine

Shrub type: Deciduous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This short shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for around 92 years. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has many long and flexible, crooked stems covered in thick, smooth, black bark, and the wood inside is pale yellow.

The branches are short stubs with hundreds of twigs that and are covered with sparse amounts of large, broad, flat, leaves with rounded edges. The leaves themselves are generally purple, frail and fuzzy.

In late summer it produces a thick sheet of small, washed-out orange blossoms with broad, flat petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They detach easily and have a mildly strong scent that smells like pineapple.

In late winter needle-like fruits ripen. The leathery cyan skin is thick and sour and savoury, and the slightly crunchy brown flesh is sweet and salty and oily. The brilliant yellow seed is large and is in the centre of the fruit.

It is excellent at collecting and storing carbon dioxide
Once on fire, it burns very quickly.
It is suitable for making paper
